Abbie the Soccer Champ!

Well, Abbie just wrapped up her first spring soccer season!! We are sooooooo proud of her! She was very diligent in attending her twice-a-week practices and every saturday games. And it showed! Her soccer skills improved greatly over the month and a half she played. Her team, The Animals, had 4 girls and 2 boys. One of the boys was very competitive and played great! The other was a little timid and disinterested as were 2 of the girls. Abbie and another girl vacillated between these 2 extremes. At times, we were constantly reminding Abbie to stop messing around and pay attention and at other times we were praising her for her 3 goals made in one game! Here she is getting ready to kick that ball as hard as her skinny little legs would allow!

Abbie is also one of the fastest little runners we know and we were always trying to encourage her to use that speed to her advantage. She did pretty good!

All in all Abbie had a great season and can't wait to start again in the fall. We may need to make sure she is NOT on a team with her best friend from school though, so maybe she'll do a little less chatting and a little more playing soccer. You know how girls are! Once again, we are soooooo proud of our little soccer champ and can't wait to see where this new challenge takes us!

Who knows, maybe even Kallie will get in on the game someday!
